soooo.. hi. it’s been a while now.

today it’s been two months since i came to japan, and i guess i can say i have rutines now. school is boring, but i love the students in my class! i have read that a lot of the exchange students, who’re girls, almost doesn’t talk to the boys, but i think i have this craving for male friends, ‘cause i have a few guy friends now! (yay)
of course i have girl friends too, and they’re so cute!

this week is test week, so ashley (from canada), nami (from thailand) and i are going to study for two hours in the library on tuesday, wednesday and thursday. and two of the days, nami and i are going to some kpop stores lkegjlekwgjl ♥

yeah.. oh, and the food here? still delicious! i really am going to be fat, like real fat, when i get home. siiiiigh
today i had gym, we have gym every monday, and it’s so vlsdjgjlw hot!! plus we’re outside, playing soft tennis, and it hasn’t been cｌoudy or rainy even once! thank god we’re playing basketball from next week, at least that’s inside.

um.. i used all my money, on my cellphone, so i had to get a new prepaid card, but i still can’t send messages! i have no idea what’s wrong..

so yeah, a small update! i will try to add some photos next time, but it’s such a pain, so don’t get your hopes too high.

Okay, so I’m totally lazy about this writing thing.. Sorry!

Since last time alot has happened, actually, I’ve been to USJ (Universal Studios Japan), cycled to my school, been inside the Imperial Palace, done some exploring by myself, and, today, there was a welcoming party with all the students, staff and families in AFS Kyoto.
I’ll write about the welcoming party first, and maybe USJ later + som pics.

So the welcoming party was.. fun! But I was so incredibly nervous, since I had to hold a small introduction in front of them all. So when we got there I was nervous and awkward, and warm after cycling there.
There was already some people there, and I met this girl from Switzerland, who had been in Japan since august last year.

Then the others came, and I hadn’t seen them since we came to Kyoto, so that was fun!
We sat down and then we started the self-introduction, and I was, of course, last. As always.
I actually went okay, even though my hands and voice were shaking really bad, and my face was red, haha!
After that they had a mall quiz for us, and then we could walk around and talk and eat all the cakes and stuff people brought.

I was really proud of my self, since all of the people came up to me and said my japanese was like”sooogood!”, and then I was all “oh no, no no no no no!”.

So then we took som pictures and stuff, before we went home again.

Ah! On the way home we went past this beautiful sakura, which we stopped and took some pictures of!

Btw, I will write about USJ in another post, ehe.. Maybe.

I’m in Japan, and with my hostfamily now! I’ve been here for around 5-6 days, and it’s wonderful here! Even though I’m still kinda awkward with my family, because of the language barrier, they’re super nice and helpful! My two brothers can’t even look at me, haha!

I’ve been to a big shopping mall (even though okaa-san said it wasn’t big, it’s big for me haha), the alien registration office, the eldest brother took me for a walk around the neighborhood, and little things like that.
We are going to Universal Studios Japan though, in April, and I’m really looking forward to it! And they also said they would bring me to the aquarium! I’m so excited, and I just can’t hide it, haha!!

So today, otou-san and the youngest brother went to work, and okaa-san and the eldest brother went to his apartment to fix something or something, so I was all alone till around half past six. It was kind of a relief, since we’ve all been together all the time for 6 days, so it was nice to have some time alone. I went out to walk around and bought some pan (bread) for lunch. It was so good, so I went to buy some more, but it was all sold out, so I bought another one. The food is so good here!!

Yeah, and the rumor that japanese people eat little. Totally. Fake.
They look atme weird, because I can’t finish all the food! Seriously, they eat a lot!! So okaa-san has begun to pick less food for me, and I feel kind of bad.. But it’s too much! I’ll either get really fat or really skinny here.

I’m leaving tomorrow. Um, I have mixed feelings about this fact..

Today I went to say goodbye to all my friends and schoolmates, and while my best guy friends were all casual and “brofist-y”, my best girl friend started to cry. And then made me cry. Ah, god damnit! We stood outside, waiting for her bus, and cried in front of everyone, haha! Embarrassing ♥

It’s going to be a long day tomorrow, with us flying the whole day.. But I’m prepared!!
Well, a little at least. I look forward to meet everyone at orientation!

So, I should probably get to bed now, I have to get up in about.. ugh, 8 hours.

I don’t know if I get to update further before I’m settled in with my host family, but I’ll try! ♥

It’s a week left, and I’ve finally got all my shots, done all the school-things, tested my eyesight (it’s worse than it was 3 years ago, bleh) and I will begin returning my books to the school tomorrow..

It haven’t hit me yet that I’m really going away, to Japan, and stay there 11 months. I don’t know if it’s good or not, ‘cause I don’t feel anything.. It hit me hard yesterday, though, when my spanish teacher said goodbye to me, since he won’t see me before I go. I was shaking and had a mini-panic attack, haha!

My sister sent me a list of things I should remember, which she also used when she was studying in Japan. Thanks, sis ♥

Anyway, I have to begin loading all the documents, music and pictures from my school laptop over to my private laptop, sigh..

Will write more later, if more happens! ♥

Exchange student

So I actually had a Norwegian blog on blogspot, but I found that this can be easier and faster to do.

Anyway, I’m Oda and I’m going to Japan for 11 months, from march 2010 to february 2013.
I will live in Kyoto, and go to Murasakino Senior High School. Unfortunately there’s no uniform (I like uniforms ehe), but that’s okay! That hopefully means that they aren’t so strict there..

My cute host family sent me these pictures, where they wrote about themselves! I hope we’ll get along..
